Asmaa Al-Husseini is a distinguished Egyptian journalist, media executive, and regional affairs expert with more than two decades of experience covering African, Arab, and Sudanese political, economic, and social developments. She currently serves as Managing Editor of Al-Ahram Newspaper, one of the Arab world’s most respected media institutions, and heads its Arab Affairs Department.

In addition to her media leadership role, Ms. Al-Husseini serves as Chairman of ICMC Ltd., where she provides strategic direction for international partnerships, business development initiatives, cross-border cooperation, and stakeholder engagement across Africa, the Middle East, and beyond. Since 1998, she has specialized in African affairs, with a particular focus on Sudan.

Throughout her distinguished career, she has conducted interviews with senior government officials, political leaders, diplomats, and influential figures across Africa and the Arab world. Her extensive field experience includes visits to more than fifteen African countries and comprehensive reporting from regions affected by conflict, political transition, and humanitarian challenges.

Ms. Al-Husseini has contributed articles, analyses, and research to numerous leading Arab and African publications and has participated in international conferences, policy forums, and academic initiatives focused on regional development, diplomacy, migration, and African affairs. Her work has earned her recognition as one of the leading voices on Sudanese and African issues within the Arab media landscape.

She previously served as Editor-in-Chief of Al-Multaqa Magazine, a joint Egyptian-Sudanese publication, and has published research and studies in respected academic and policy journals. She has also actively supported initiatives assisting refugees, displaced populations, and vulnerable communities throughout Africa.

Ms. Al-Husseini holds a Bachelor of Journalism from Cairo University and a Diploma in Political Science from the Institute of African Research and Studies. In recognition of her contributions to journalism and African affairs, she was awarded the Cairo University Shield of Excellence. Through her combined expertise in media leadership, international relations, African affairs, and organizational governance, Asmaa Al-Husseini continues to play a significant role in strengthening international cooperation, fostering strategic partnerships, and advancing sustainable development initiatives across the region. Asmaa is also an active member of the Egyptian Foreign Affairs Council, where she sits on the African Committee.
